Yay!!! I finally completed a 5K in less than 30 minutes! I’m getting faster!
Maybe it’s the new shoes… On Saturday, I went to this nice little athletic shoe store in Newtown, PA and, on the salesperson’s recommendation, bought a pair of Brooks’ PureFlow running shoes. These shoes are great! They’re light and responsive with enough cushioning to prevent leg pain or discomfort. I did feel a little ache in my left knee and ankle in the middle of mile 6, but I think that’s because I didn’t tighten the shoes enough.
I was also feeling a lot better today because my cold is almost gone… I just had to deal with a little residual mucus during the run. I had to keep using my sweatband to wipe my runny nose (I know, I know — It’s gross). Despite this, I set new PRs for running a 5K and a 10K. I just have to keep it up!
