The weather was perfect for a run today! It was cool and comfortable. I decided to do a long run because I’ve been working out a little less since being back at work (which is a workout in itself). The other day I actually ran at work… I had to run all around the school to get to a secure location during a lockdown drill!
Today’s run was good, except I started to get some major cramping in my middle right side in mile 5. It was so painful that I was afraid I wouldn’t even be able to walk… but I started walking slowly, drank some water, and took it easy for a few blocks. The break helped a lot, and I was able to resume running at a decent pace.
Even with the walking portion of the run, I ran my fastest 5K yet (this includes training and race time)! I also ran my fastest 10K today. It felt great!
Now, I just have to work on improving my pace so that I can run a 5K in under 30 minutes. I’m trying, but it takes time…
