I used the “pyramid” interval session on the Endomondo Pro app for iPhone again this evening.  The high intensity intervals become longer and then shorter during the workout.

The training lasts for 22 minutes and breaks the intervals down like this:

  • 5 minutes of low intensity running
  • 30 seconds of high intensity running
  • 1 minute of low intensity running
  • 45 seconds of high intensity running
  • 1 minute of low intensity running
  • 1 minute of high intensity running
  • 1 minute of low intensity running
  • 1 minute and 30 seconds of high intensity running
  • 1 minute of low intensity running
  • 1 minute of high intensity running
  • 1 minute of low intensity running
  • 45 seconds of high intensity running
  • 1 minute of low intensity running
  • 30 seconds of high intensity running
  • 5 minutes of low intensity running

It was a good workout and felt pretty easy.  I could have gone a few more miles, but it was getting really dark and I don’t have the equipment to be running at night… so in the interest of safety, and time, I chose to do a shorter workout.

I also saw two of my stray cat friends tonight!  The first one I saw during my warm-up walk.  He came up to me and I was able to pet him!  I told him to go to my house and wait for me to get back and feed him, but I didn’t see him when I got home.  I did, however, see another stray can hanging out in my driveway when I finished my workout.  That one hid when it saw me, though.
